The Centre International des Femmes, Québec (CIFQ) is a non profit organization created  in 1981 to specifically help immigrant women and their families to facilitate their integration.  Its achievements and partners are numerous.

The Development of Local Networking in Health Services and Social Services Agency recognizes the specific role of the CIFQ with regards to the health and social services for women of the cultural community and their families. The CIFQ must facilitate the immigrants access into the network and do some prevention.  In this regard, the Agency grants a recurrent subsidy.

The Ministry of Citizens Relations and of Immigration financially supports various CIFQ projects aiming towards the integration of the immigrant women of Quebec.

The objectives of the Centre International des Femmes, Québec :

  • To set up a place of exchange between immigrant women and Quebecer women and to further the intercultural closeness.
  • Facilitate access to health services, to social services, to education, to justice, to socio-economic development to all immigrant women.
  • To answer appropriately the needs of the immigrant women and their families.
  • Break the isolation of immigrant women and further her active participation in her new surroundings.
  • Represent immigrant women of the region in cases that influence their living conditions  as well as their well being.
  • Collaborate with all organizations who work in the interest of immigrants.

To reach its objectives, the Centre has developed numerous activities, services and projects.

The CIFQ always tries to encourage women to take charge of their lives and to make  them aware of the mechanism of their welcoming society.

Our services

  • Case consultations concerning immigrant women, women in general and immigration.
  • Interpreting : Regional Bank of linguistic and cultural Interpreters (RBLCI).
  • Meetings and sensitivity workshops (health and well-being, immigration and integration, intercultural bringing together…)
  • Personalized French courses for immigrants.
  • Information, help, orientation and reference.
  • Sewing, decorating and culture workshops.
  • Outings, social activities and intercultural bringing together activities.
  • Daycare offered free of charge during our activities.

For a modest price, immigrants can also benefit from :

  • Translating of written documents in various languages.
  • Swearing in.
